Mobile CRM technology appears to be gaining ground in terms credibility and popularity. CRM Software as a Service (SaaS) vendors are shifting towards the technology, and consumers' interest in it is rising.
SearchCRM.com reported on several recent developments in the mobile CRM sector. Two of the focuses of the article were Sendia and Entellium. "Because Salesforce acquired Sendia," said Sheryl Kingstone, senior program manager with the Boston-based Yankee Group, "they have a leg-up in embedding into a mobile architecture."
She also had confidence in Entellium, which "can start fresh instead of how the traditional CRM vendors just shoved their CRM onto the device to see if it works." According to the company's website, Entellium was founded in 2000.
 Mike Colagrossi, the president and CEO of First Rate Financial, spoke about his need for mobile CRM technology Barney Beal's article. First Rate Financial recently chose Entellium as its CRM system provider.
"From a manager's perspective, I don't bring a laptop in the field," Colagrossi said. "It's just very clunky." He then discussed how his company had decided on Entellium.
"When we looked at Entellium and Salesforce," Colagrossi said, "we had ideas of price point, versatility, and customizability. When we launched the mobile application, it pulled from modifications we did."

Other people appear to also be "warming to hosted applications." A Yankee Group study indicated that "more than 40% of mobile CRM users said they were interested in having a service provider manage their applications, while more than 70% said they were somewhat interested," Beal reported.
After a long period of relative inactivity, mobile CRM technology appears to be picking up speed.
