04.27.09 Funnela A Decent CRM Starting Point  By Doug Caverly As everyone who's ever watched the movie "What About Bob?" knows, some of life's more complicated or intimidating issues are best addressed by taking baby steps. And where CRM is concerned, Funnela is a software program that is supposed to be pretty approachable for people new to the field. Darrell Etherington recently took a look at Funnela and found, "Funnela makes simplicity its main selling point. It offers the basics, and little else, which is great for a beginner. There are some minor language issues, since Funnela comes from a Polish developer, but these minor quirks don't interfere with the app's usability." Budgetary concerns shouldn't much factor in, either, since six types of service plans are available, ranging in price from free to $149 per month. Plus, adoption risk is quite low, because 30-day free trials are allowed with all plans.
Otherwise, Etherington wrote, "Once you've signed up, logging in takes you to your dashboard, where you have an overview of your upcoming tasks and appointments. You also get a feed of changes, new tasks and updates as they occur. This is particularly useful if you attach multiple users to your account, which you may choose to do if you're running a small business or working with a partner." So if you or someone you know is thinking about testing the CRM waters, keep Funnela in mind. Bill Murray's character in "What About Bob?" would surely note that the first syllable is "fun," and all sorts of good stuff might follow from this fact.
