12.07.09 Salesforce.com Racks Up CRM Market Awards By Doug Caverly It's always nice for a company when it wins an award. Winning two - or even three - is better still. But Salesforce.com won four CRM Market Awards from CRM Magazine last week, which definitely seems like an accomplishment worth documenting. And Salesforce's CEO was honored, too. A press release (which was no doubt written by some very happy marketers) laid out all of the details by stating, "In addition to winning the Sales Force Automation Market Award, salesforce.com swept the three CRM Suite categories, winning the Enterprise Suite CRM, Midmarket Suite CRM and Small-Business Suite CRM Awards." The release also noted, "It was the first time in the history of the awards that one company won in all three of the CRM Suite categories." As for what happened with CEO Marc Benioff, he was named a "2009 Influential Leader" for the fifth time, which is impressive. This pile of awards says a lot about the quality of Salesforce's products, of course; subpar stuff doesn't usually attract enough trophies to fill a whole shelf. Plus, since picking a winner was a three-month process, the awards speak to a sustained level of quality more than a single moment of greatness.
