12.21.09 CRM Software Makes Inroads In Tinseltown By Doug Caverly We'll admit from the start: this isn't the same as having the words "CRM is great" shown at the start of every movie. And it's really not the same as Hollywood's stars "doing lunch" with everyone in the CRM industry. Still, it may interest CRM experts to know that the Screen Actors Guild-Producers Pension & Health Plans (SAG-PH) has started using Vitech Systems Group's CRM software. Call center workers in Burbank, Ventura, and New York will likely benefit from this development on a day-to-day basis more than anyone else, since the new software's intended to improve call tracking and service management. The changes should be noticed by just about everyone who comes into contact with the call centers, though. "The new system allows us to offer an ever increasing level of service to our membership while harnessing operating efficiencies and containing long term costs," said Bruce Dow, SAG-PH's CEO, in a statement. "Vitech has been an excellent partner and we are extremely pleased with our new V3-based CRM solution."
Hopefully the SAG-PH implementation will serve as a launching pad for CRM to gain share throughout the entertainment industry. After all, word of mouth could spread facts about the benefits of CRM to all sorts of talent agencies and movie and television studios. And people in the entertainment industry are supposed to be pretty chatty. For what it's worth, though, they may be very pleasant to work with. Krishna Rathi, Vitech's West Coast Practice Leader, stated, "We are so pleased to see the positive impact that the V3 CRM system is already making at SAG. The project's success is a great tribute to the vision of SAG-PH's management and the hard work of our combined teams." About the Author: Doug is a staff writer for WebProNews.
