Salesforce Acquires Important New Startup

Salesforce has recently acquired Rypple, a cloud computing startup company that provides customers with cloud based HR solutions.
Rypple is a company that focuses on providing a more pleasant and more effective alternative to traditional performance reviews. The system is meant to be a social networking sort of approach to this to allow people to always be on top of how well they are doing in the workplace.
It is a well known fact in the world of CRM that Salesforce is one of the leading providers of relevant solutions, but with this acquistion, they seem to be getting serious about using the cloud. According the the announcement, "Rypple's next generation social performance management app to be re-launched as 'Successforce'," presumably to solidify the fact that Rypple is no longer a separate entity.
According to Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, "Salesforce.com and Rypple share a vision for extending the social enterprise to transform the way we work," and also said "The next generation of HCM is not just about a cloud delivery model, it's about a fundamentally better way to recruit, manage and empower employees in a social world." Based on the comments from him and others close to the company, it seems like they are dead set on revolutionizing the CRM market.
Although they are a young company, Rypple is already known for their innovative approach to this field, attracting companies such as Facebook and Spotify to their side. Their performance app is apparently based on "50+ years of behavioral science, focusing on what really keeps people passionate about their work."
